A Corrupt City Council, Conspicuous Corporate Crimes, and Cagey Characters.
It’s 1982, and business is booming in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Sonny McBride and Jim Tarpley are engaged in a bitter, often violent battle for the North Texas spoils.
The titans of industry play a continuous, zero-sum game of deliberate attacks and defenses to gain a dominant market position.
Castillo, Texas, a fast-growing, wealthy community, is the latest target for Sonny and Jim.
Their fight to corner the multi-million dollar businesses in Castillo will result in two kidnappings, multiple assaults, and one suspicious death.
Intertwined with the McBride-Tarpley business feud is a nefarious conspiracy of political corruption, discrimination, and bribery.
When the sinister plan, designed by a group known as The Pioneers, is discovered, residents realize Castillo isn’t the utopia they believed it to be.
When a city’s government can’t be trusted, is vigilante justice warranted? Are ethics and morality black and white, or is there a grey? Who decides right from wrong?

Dementia–and the several diseases that fall under the collective name–is much more than impaired memory.
Through a series of short stories, the real-life accounts of caring for a loved one with dementia are told by the patient’s son.
In 2013, Phil Gallaher began showing signs of dementia. In 2018, he scored a zero, the worst possible score, on the standard test for dementia.
From 2018-2020, Phil’s wife, Diane, his son, Pax, and his daughter-in-law, Cindy cared for him. Working two weeks on/two weeks off, Pax, Cindy, and Diane would push themselves to their physical and emotional limits. They also grew closer and found new ways to love one another.
Told through Pax’s straightforward, descriptive, and often humorous perspective, the Gallaher family history is chronicled.
From the real-life journals of the author, the short story series, That Moment in Time describes what dementia really looks like.
